Sky Village NYC After School Arts Program is a unique opportunity for children 5 years and older to take part in weekly arts and crafts classes at Sky Village NYC, and kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with the International Training Center of New York 23-81 21st St. in Astoria, NY (11105).

 

Inspired by the "Yin Yang Theory" in Chinese Philosophy, we believe that greater physical, mental and emotional balance can be achieved through the practice of various art forms, proper nutrition and meditation.  Our children's program will largely focus on visual and martial arts. We will also engage in a daily 10 minute "mind break"or meditation to help our students calm their nervous systems and steady their focus. Children should demonstrate an aptitude for drawing and painting to participate.  Art methods that we will focus on include Origami, 3D drawing and painting. Children will be given smocks, pencils, drawing pads, paint brushes and 1 art board per month. 

 

We feel confident with our regular after school routine your child will make significant steps towards regaining a sense of control and adopt systems for long lasting happiness and well being.

OUR PROGRAM

If your child is under the age of 10 years old we will arrange for one of our staff to pick your child up from school and walk directly to ITC or Sky Village for the afterschool program. We will be alternating 45 minutes of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (Monday + Wednesday) with 3D drawing and painting (Tuesday + Thursday) each week.  On Fridays students will enjoy structured playtime and field games with Daniel Berrios from Unlimited Body NY!  A sample of our weekly schedule is listed below.

HOLIDAYS

 

Sky Village NYC plans to be open for all major school holidays this year.  Your child will have priority for a spot on all of these days. You are being charged a flat fee per week, so please take advantage of these holidays.  If you do not plan to attend camp on school holidays please contact Camp Director Shasta Molnar and she will add a credit to your following month's invoice. If your child decides to stay for FULL DAY camp (8am-3:30pm) your daily after school fee will be deducted from the price of FULL DAY which is $105. If you only want your child to attend HALF DAY camp (2:30-6pm) you will not be charged. IF you would like to attend camp from 8am to 6pm you will be charged $105 (price of full day camp) + $25 (extended care until 6pm) - (your daily fee). Our parents will NOT be charged for Winter Break, Mid Winter Break or Spring Break unless registered for those camps which will be priced at $525.

Sky Village NYC will be CLOSED on the following public school holidays:

​

• Thanksgiving, and the day after Thanksgiving

• Christmas, and the day after Christmas

• New Years Day, the day after New Years Day

• Memorial Day

​

If any of these holidays fall on a weekend we will also be closed for:

• First Day of Passover

• Good Friday

​

Sky Village has set expenses for each location based on attendance, consequently we do not offer refunds for personal sick days, vacation days, or “snow days”. On days when public school buildings are closed due to an emergency, all students and families should plan on staying home.

REGISTER

Registration for this exclusive program is $250 for 5 days a week for the school year. This price includes pick-up from your child's school and multiple specialty classes per week including visual art and martial arts! You may also choose the 2 day option (T+Th) for $150 weekly or 3 day option (M, W+ F) for $180. Your deposit will hold your child's spot for the semester. A four week payment is due by the 5th of every month.

Alternatively, you may sign up just for our drawing and painting classes (M+W) and/or kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes (T+Th) that will run from 4:30pm to 5:15pm for a price of $50 per class.
