Totally Rad 80's Themed Summer Art Camp at Sky Village NYC!
This summer, we're bringing back the bold, colorful, and creative vibes of the 1980s with an art-focused twist! At Sky Village NYC, kids will dive into the iconic world of 80s pop culture through fun, hands-on art projects, retro games, and collaborative activities. Neon colors, funky patterns, and vintage styles will inspire campers to unleash their creativity and craft amazing works of art!
Each day, children will explore different aspects of the 80s through artistic expression, whether they're designing tie-dye shirts, making cassette tape sculptures, or learning about the artistic influence of 80s music and movies. Plus, they'll enjoy outdoor fun, music, and plenty of opportunities to express themselves through movement and imaginative play.
For children ages 4-8 years old, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Extended care available until 6:00 PM five days a week!

Week 7: Artistic Olympics

Week 8: 80's Music Hall of Fame

Listen and learn all favorite songs of the 80's such as 99 Red Balloons, Girls Just Want to Have Fun and Take on Me!
Week 9: 80s Art Showcase & Celebration

Recap the summer with a gallery-style showcase!

Create DIY photo frames and autograph books, and help decorate for an 80s-themed talent show and pizza party.
Daily Schedule:
8:00 AM - 8:30 AM: Arrival & Morning Warm-Up Start the day with free play or a quick art activity to spark creativity.
8:30 AM - 9:15 AM: Icebreakers & Creative Games Fun group activities to get everyone excited, including 80s-inspired art challenges!
9:15 AM - 10:00 AM: Snack Break Parents, please pack a snack!
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Outdoor Art Adventures Take art outside with collaborative murals, chalk art, or nature-inspired 80s crafts.
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Lunch Break & Quiet Time Recharge with lunch, quiet reading, or storytelling.
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Art-Focused Workshop Dive into the daily art project, from painting and sculpting to tie-dyeing and crafting.
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Mixed Media & Movement Explore how art connects with music, dance, and physical activity—like creating your own art-inspired dance moves or designing costumes for a mini 80s show!
2:30 PM - 3:00 PM: Early Pick-up/Transition to Extended Care
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Transfer to Sky Village 21st St. (23-81 21st St.)
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Sustainable Living Activities, Indoor Soccer, Fun Friday
Indoor Soccer — Mondays & Wednesdays
Children will focus on gross motor skills and foot work, primarily using fun games to help them build skills, cultivate discipline, and develop a healthy love for team sports!
Sustainable Living Activities — Tuesdays & Thursdays
Explore sustainable living practices and explore habitats such as Arcosanti, Biodome and Earthships. We will also experiment with making our own laundry soup, natural tie dye and fermentation!
Fun Friday
Occasionally we’ll watch a classic 80s movie for kids, like The Goonies, E.T., or Karate Kid.
